As a result of a new initiave of the Australian National Boxing Federation the World Boxing Organisation have included current Australian Cruiserweight
champion Jai Opetaia in their top 15 World ratings.
In reply to the recommendation process by the ANBF WBO President Pacovalcarcel wrote, “Regarding your request it sounds like a good idea. Please
submit the boxers to our headquarters monthly so that the WBO Ratings Committee can include in the Rankings those that can be rated. I agree that this is
a great stimulus to your Australian Champions.”
The ANBF is appreciative of the cooperation extended by the WBO along with theWBC and IBF who receive monthly recommendations from the ANBF for rating
consideration.
We are endeavouring to progress to a stage where our very best contenders will be challenging for the National title resulting in the best fighting the best with
our World rating recommendations process becoming a straight forward inclusion with the World sanctioning bodies.
