Dear all,
On Tuesday 22nd January 2019 the ANBF received notification from the management of Faris Chevalier that as of today, Faris has relinquished the Australian Super Middleweight championship.
Faris won this title on 8th August 2015 and his last defence was on 14th May 2016. The long period from his last defence largely reflected the difficulty Faris had in securing opponents for title defences. The ANBF would like to congratulate Faris for his reign as Australian Super Middleweight champion and thanks Faris for relinquishing the title.
Consequently a 7 day “Registration of Interest Period” has commenced (ANBF Rule 75) for the Australian Super Middleweight Title. The Registration of Interest Period for this title will conclude on Tuesday 29th January 2019.
During this time interested promoters / managers may lodge an “Registrations of Interest” with the ANBF National Secretary of the boxer or boxers they wish to be considered to compete for the vacant ANBF Australian Super Middleweight Title.
Lodgement is to Andrew Campbell via email acampbell@marsdenjacob.com.au (i.e. reply to this email).
It is expected that any applications are provided with the knowledge and consent on the boxers nominated.
The ANBF cannot consider any applications until the Registration of Interest Period has finished (on Wednesday 30th January).
