Australian Super Welterweight title.

Reigning Champion Victor Nagbe won the title in Brisbane and was making his first defence in Brisbane.Up against Dan Hill, a stablemate of former Australian middleweight Champion, Issac Hardman. From the early rounds, it was evident that Hill was going to take the roll of the pressure fighter and Nagbe would take the roll of the counter puncher. Hill was having the more success in the exchanges and was throwing more punches and really taking the fight to Nagbe. The sold out crowd responding excitedly to every punch Hill threw.By the mid way stage of the bout, Nagbe upped his work rate. Something his corner had been pleading with him to do from round 3.Towards the last few rounds of the fight, Nagbe was meeting Hill centre ring and trading with him blow for blow. Landing some huge punches, but unable to slow down an extremely determined Hill who continued to have the higher workrate of the two combatants.

At the final bell Hill and his team looked confident they had done enough.            And the judges agreed.

A majority decision victory to Hill. And now he is the new Australian Super Welterweight Champion.
