Opetia defends Cruiserweight Title

Jai Opetia successfully defended his ANBF Cruiserweight Title which he won in 201, by outgunning Queensland challenger Ben Kelleher. Opetia won the first 2 rounds on all cards, however Kelleher was making it difficult for him in the early part of each round. In round 2 Kelleher took a knee indicating his hand was hurting following a missed punch which had landed awkwardly on the Champions elbow. The bout was allowed to continue when midway through the 3 round the Referee stopped the bout as the Queensland based Boxer was in too much pain. Opetia remains Australian National Boxing Federation Cruiserweight Champion taking his record to 14-0 winning by stoppage in his last 10 outings.
