This Vacant Title was for the ANBF Vacant Australasian Super Welterweight Title between Zeke Latini v Kya Sparks and was held on the 28/3/2026 at the Arena Sports Club Yagoona in Sydney on a Neutral Corner Promotion which is run by long-time Sydney Promoter Paul Nasari.
Rd.1 As was expected both Boxers got into action immediately as there had been many verbal slings by each at the Weigh Inn. However Sparks had the quicker punches and landed more.
Rd.2 The second Round we saw Sparks more aggressive and landed several right hands over the top even though Latini seemed to be punching harder he did not land as many as his Opponent.
Rd,3 In this Round Sparks went straight up again and landed a multiple of punches, however Latini began to land many solid body punches, but seemed to be outworked by Sparks who again was throwing too many well directed punches.
Rd.4 Both Boxers went straight into action at the sound of the Bell, however once again Sparks landed slightly more effective blows.
Rd.5 In this Round Sparks dominated the action however Latina did fight back throwing many punches which had some sting in them, however close to the end of the round Sparks landed a solid left rip to the body.
Rd.6 To begin this round Sparks was quick into action as was Latini and they provided plenty of action for the full house to appreciate. During the round Sparks received a cut above his right eye from a punch as indicated by Referee Dean Cambridge. The cut did not deter any action by both Boxers who were into it again regardless with again Sparks finishing in front.
Rd.7 The cut on Sparks eye was checked by the Doctor before action was permitted once the OK was given the both Boxers were into action. Sparks was now concentrating on his body attack which was having a slight effect on Latini as he continued to trade blows with his Opponent. This round went back and forth and was a great round for the massive full house to appreciate. At the end of the round Latini seemed to be tiring from the continued body attack.
Rd.8 This being the final round a tiring Latini was coping ok but this did not slow the attack from the Sparks who I’m sure had be told by his competent experienced Corner to come home strongly which he did and did not ease up at all. All in all this was a very creditable Bout with the Winner being Kya Sparks declared a Unanimous Points Winner.
