WOMEN’S AUSTRALIAN LIGHT FLYWEIGHT TITLE

CHAMPION – JEMMA PEART and CHALLENGER – APRIL NAPTHINE

THE GRAND VAUDEVILLE – CONDELL PARK, SYDNEY

29 MARCH 2025

A full house at The Grand Vaudeville cheered as both girls entered the ring.

They both started the bout aggressively with Jemma gaining the first round.  They kept up a fast pace until the fifth round.   In the sixth,  April appeared to get stronger, knocking Jemma down for the eight count to gain the extra points.  Jemma did not recover enough and only managed to protect herself in the remaining rounds allowing April to win a unanimous points decision and become the new Women’s Australian Light Flyweight Champion.
