A great night of boxing was held at Coorong Pavilion – Exhibition Park, Canberra, A.C.T. on Friday 23 April 2021.
One bout was a rematch between Ben Dencio and T C Priestley for the Vacant Australian Super Featherweight Title. The pair had previously faced each other on 5 April 2019 at the Hellenic Club, Woden, ACT with Priestley stopping Dencio in round 7.
Again it was a hard fought fight, with both fighters giving their best – both aspiring to become the Australian Champion. Dencio appeared to be in control in the first few rounds, however Priestley proved to be much stronger as the fight progressed – Dencio was in trouble with referee Will Soulos stopping the fight in round 9 in Priestley’s favour.
They both displayed strength and courage on the night and this was acknowledged by the crowd.
