ANBF Australian Women’s Welterweight Title
Jessica Messina v Millicent Agboegbulem
Based on the split decision at their last meeting this was set to be a very competitive and close fight. Millicent is the reigning ANBF Australian Women’s Super Welterweight champion and came down in weight for this fight.
The fight started with Millicent fighting at range and landing clean left and right hands. After a good first round, the second round saw Millicent get a cut eye from a head clash and Jessica score a surprise knockdown. The remining fight was close with Jessica mainly moving forward and both boxers scoring well. The last round may have been the deciding round with Jessica coming home slightly stronger than Millicent. After a great fight Jessica Messina won by spilt decision: 77/74, 76/75, 74/75.
The ANBF congratulates Jessica on becoming the ANBF Women’s Welterweight champion.
